Maryville University performs the following regular activities to help guard against and prevent the illegal downloading of copyrighted materials:

Maryville uses bandwidth shaping on an ongoing basis.
Maryville monitors traffic to identify largest bandwidth users. A search, monitoring and reporting tool is also utilized for logging network traffic.
Maryville monitors the network and utilizes software designed to detect, identify and prevent the illegal downloading or sharing of copyrighted materials in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
